A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to operating room nurses employed by physicians or 
physicians' groups.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 301.1525, Occupations Code, is amended 
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
	(d)  Notwithstanding Subsection (b) or a rule adopted under 
that subsection, an operating room nurse who works directly for a 
physician or a physician's group and has at least 2,500 hours 
experience in performing specific operating room duties may 
continue to perform those duties after September 1, 2003.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
