A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to state purchasing of recycled products.                            
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 2155.445, Government Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
	(d)  In addition to the products covered by the definition 
adopted by rule under this section, in this section "recycled 
product" includes recycled steel products.  The preference for 
recycled steel products under this section applies also to products 
purchased in connection with projects described by Section 2166.003 
and Section 2166.004.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
