A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the dissolution of the Southeast Trinity Groundwater
Conservation District.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The Southeast Trinity Groundwater Conservation
District, as created by Chapter 1331, Acts of the 76th Legislature,
Regular Session, 1999, and the creation of which was ratified by
Part 10, Article 3, Chapter 966, Acts of the 77th Legislature,
Regular Session, 2001, and Chapter 1335, Acts of the 77th
Legislature, Regular Session, 2001, is dissolved, except that:
(1) all debts incurred by the district shall be paid;
(2) any assets that remain after payment of the debts
shall be transferred to Comal County; and
(3) the organization of the district shall be
maintained until all debts are paid and the remaining assets are
transferred.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
