A BILL TO BE ENTITLED



AN ACT


relating to the definition of financial institution.                          
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 01.002(14) is amended to read as 
follows:                
	(14)  "Financial institution" means a state or federal 
savings bank, a state or federal savings and loan association, or a 
state or national bank has the meaning assigned by Section 
201.101(1), Finance Code.
	SECTION 2.  This act takes effect September 1, 2003.
