A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the use of all-terrain vehicles.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subdivision 1(A) of Section 663.001, Subchapter
A, Chapter 663, Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows:
(A) equipped with a saddle for the use of the
rider or any passenger when manufacturing standards for the vehicle
make provisions for transporting passengers;
SECTION 2. Section 663.036, Subchapter C, Chapter 663,
Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 663.036. PASSENGERS PROHIBITED. A person may not
carry a passenger on an all-terrain vehicle operated on public
property unless the manufacturing standards for the vehicle make
provisions for transporting passengers.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
