A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to fraud awareness training for employees of state
agencies.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 321.013, Government Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (j) to read as follows:
(j) The State Auditor shall develop fraud awareness
training programs for use by state agencies.
SECTION 2. Subchapter C, Chapter 656, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 656.050 to read as follows:
Sec. 656.050. FRAUD AWARENESS TRAINING. A state agency
shall provide fraud awareness training to all employees by
implementing fraud awareness training programs developed by the
state auditor.
SECTION 3. Not later than June 1, 2004, the state auditor
shall develop fraud awareness training programs for use by state
agencies, as required by Section 321.013(j), Government Code, as
added by this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
