A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

a bill to adjust the service areas of the Alvin Community College 
District and the Brazosport Community College District.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 130.163 of the Texas Education Code 
shall be amended by adding subdivision (3), as follows:
	Section 130.163:  The service area of the Alvin Community 
College includes the territory within:
		(1)  the Alvin, Danbury, and Pearland Independent 
School Districts;         
		(2)  the part of the Angleton Independent School 
District annexed by the community college district before September 
1, 1995; and
		(3)  the territory located in Brazoria County, situated 
to the west of the Alvin Community College District boundary as it 
existed on January 1, 2003, extending west to the eastern border of 
Fort Bend County, and south to County Roads 49, 34, and 255, 
including the City of Rosharon and the Darrington and Ramsey Units 
of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
	SECTION 2.  Section 130.170 of the Texas Education Code 
would be amended by adding subdivision (3) to read as follows:
	The service area of Brazosport College District includes the 
territory within:
		(1)  the Brazosport, Columbia-Brazoria, Sweeny, and 
Damon Independent School Districts; and
		(2)  the Angleton Independent School District, except 
the part annexed by the Alvin Community College before September 1, 
1995 and the area described by Section 160.163(3), as added by Acts 
of the Legislature 2003 (reference session laws).
