A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the issuance of license to a provisional license 
holder.        
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 503.311(a), Occupation Code, is amended 
to read as follows:
	(a)  The board shall issue a license to the holder of a 
provisional license who applies for a license if:
		(1)  The board verifies that the applicant has 
maintained licensure in good standing and previously met the 
academic and experience requirements for a regular license in 
another state, territory, or jurisdiction that has a current 
licensing requirements substantially equivalent to the 
requirements of this chapter; or
		(2) [(1)]  the board verifies that the applicant has 
the academic and experience requirements for a regular license 
under this chapter; and
		(3) [(2)]  the applicant satisfies any other license 
requirements under this chapter.
	SECTION 2.  This act takes effect September 1, 2003.
