A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to an extension of a strategic partnership agreement 
between a special purpose district and certain municipalities.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 43.0751, Local Government Code, is 
amended by adding Subsection (n-1) to read as follows:
	(n-1)  At the conclusion of the term of an agreement between 
a municipality and a district under Subsection (n), the district 
and the municipality may extend the agreement for a period not to 
exceed 10 years.  An agreement may be extended only once under this 
subsection.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
