H.B. No. 2799




AN ACT

relating to the application of the Uniform Municipal Courts of 
Record Act.  
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 30.00001, Government Code, is amended by 
amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as 
follows:
	(b)  This subchapter applies to:                                        
		(1)  each municipality listed in this chapter; and              
		(2)  each other municipality in which the governing 
body of the municipality has created a municipal court of record as 
authorized by Section 30.00003.
	(c)  If a provision of this subchapter conflicts with a 
specific provision for a particular municipality, the specific 
provision controls.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
