A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to municipal courts of record.                                       
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 30.00001, Texas Government Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	Sec. 30.00001.  Short Title; Application (a)  This chapter 
may be cited as the Uniform Municipal Courts of Record Act.
	(b)  This subchapter applies to each municipality listed in 
this chapter and all municipalities which create municipal courts 
of record pursuant to Section 30.00003.
	(c)  If a provision of this subchapter conflicts with a 
specific provision for a particular municipality, the specific 
provision controls.
