A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the operations of the Texas Juvenile Probation 
Commission.      
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 141.011(a), Human Resources Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	(a)  The commission consists of:                                               
		(1)  two district court judges;                                               
		(2)  two county judges or commissioners;  and                                 
		(3)  three [five] members of the public who are not 
employees in the criminal or juvenile justice system.
	SECTION 2.  Section 141.012, Human Resources Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	Sec. 141.012.  SUNSET PROVISION.  The Texas Juvenile 
Probation Commission is subject to Chapter 325, Government Code 
(Texas Sunset Act). Unless continued in existence as provided by 
that chapter, the commission is abolished and this chapter expires 
September 1, 2011 [2009].
	SECTION 3.  Sections 141.041 and 141.042, Human Resources 
Code, are repealed.
	SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
