A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the collection of court costs in a forfeiture 
proceeding.       
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Article 59.05, Code of Criminal Procedure, is 
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
	(g)  The state, state agency or District Attorney's filing 
forfeiture cases arising from the Sarita Federal Checkpoint in 
Sarita, Kenedy County, Texas, shall pay the clerk of the court costs 
upon filing of forfeiture cases, as in other civil proceedings.
	SECTION 2.  This act takes effect on September 1, 2003.
