A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the requirement of architects and engineers to carry errors and omissions insurance. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 1051, Occupations Code, is amended by adding Section 1051.211 to read as follows: Sec. 1051.211. REQUIRING ERRORS AND OMISSIONS INSURANCE. (a) A person regulated by the board is required to purchase errors and omissions insurance. (b) The board shall adopt rules to administer and enforce this section. SECTION 2. Subchapter E, Chapter 1001, Occupations Code, is amended by adding Section 1001.214 to read as follows: Sec. 1001.214. REQUIRING ERRORS AND OMISSIONS INSURANCE. (a) A person regulated by the board is required to purchase errors and ommissions insurance. (b) The board shall adopt rules to administer and enforce this section. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
