A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the composition of bail bond boards.                              
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Chapter 1704, Regulation of Bail Bond sureties 
is amended by the addition of Section 1704.053 (13), as follows:
	Section 1704.053(13)  a criminal defense attorney registered 
to practice law in the county that the board has jurisdiction.
	Section 2.  Section 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if 
it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each 
house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  
If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate 
affected his Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
