A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT


relating to the abolition of the County Court at Law of Matagorda 
County. 
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 152.1671(a), Human Resources Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	(a)  The juvenile board of Matagorda County is composed of 
the county judge and[,] the district judges in Matagorda County[, 
and the judge of each county court at law].
	SECTION 2.  Sections 25.1631 and 25.1632, Government Code, 
are repealed.     
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
