H.C.R. No. 77
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Participants in the Longview Partnership's
Leadership Tomorrow program are visiting the State Capitol on this
day, March 5, 2003, and it is fitting to recognize these notable
Texans at this time; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Tomorrow provides opportunities for high
school sophomores and juniors to learn about the issues that are
facing their community and to build leadership skills to
successfully address the challenges of the future; the program
includes a series of eight one-day sessions that focus on eight
areas of community concern, and a service project, which this year
is being done with Habitat for Humanity; and
WHEREAS, The Leadership Tomorrow program encourages young
Texans to strive for success and to be actively involved in their
community, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring this worthy
initiative as it helps to build a brighter and more promising future
for the citizens of Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend the
Leadership Tomorrow program for its significant contributions to
the betterment of Texas and extend to the organization's visiting
delegation sincere best wishes for a memorable and productive stay
in Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Leadership Tomorrow as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
