H.C.R. No. 170


HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor Courtney Sumner, an outstanding student at Hommel Elementary School, who was named a winner of the 2002-2003 Everman Independent School District Spelling Bee; and WHEREAS, This remarkable young Texan has demonstrated exceptional maturity, intelligence, and determination and is a source of tremendous pride to her family and friends and to the students and faculty of Hommel Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Courtney Sumner's expertise and determination in the demanding arena of competitive spelling are indeed worthy of special praise, and it is a pleasure to recognize her achievements at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby commend Courtney Sumner on being named a winner of the 2002-2003 Everman Independent School District Spelling Bee and extend to this fine student sincere best wishes for continued happiness and success in all future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Courtney Sumner as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
