CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, E. Ray Elementary School in Fort Worth has been
awarded recognized status by the Texas Education Agency for its
impressive achievements during the 2001-2002 school year; and
WHEREAS, Located in the Everman Independent School District,
this North Texas school is under the skilled leadership of
principal James King, whose dedication and hard work, coupled with
that of teachers, students, and parents, have greatly advanced the
school's pursuit of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS, Among the rigorous criteria that must be met to
achieve recognized status are a high degree of student success on
the TAAS, outstanding attendance, and a minimal dropout rate; and
WHEREAS, The students, faculty, and administrators of E. Ray
Elementary School are a vital part of the Lone Star State's public
education system, and their notable accomplishments are most
deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas
hereby congratulate E. Ray Elementary School on its receipt of
recognized status for 2001-2002 from the Texas Education Agency and
extend sincere congratulations to superintendent Dan Powell,
principal James King, and the many other individuals who are
associated with this outstanding school; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives and Senate.
