CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Dr. Gregory W. Bartha has been selected to receive the 50th Golden Deeds Award presented by the Midland Exchange Club; and WHEREAS, A lifelong Midland resident, Dr. Bartha graduated from Stanford University and Yale Medical School before returning to his beloved hometown to contribute to his fellow citizens through his profession and as a volunteer; and WHEREAS, In addition to serving as medical advisor for the Hospice of Midland, this esteemed physician works for the betterment of his community in collaboration with the Midland Children's Clinic, the Visual Aids News Mobile, and the Midland Memorial Hospital Board of Governors; furthermore, he provides assistance to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Internal Medicine Department and the physician assistant program; and WHEREAS, His volunteerism also encompasses Big Brothers Big Sisters, Mabee Center of Manor Park, First Presbyterian Church, Area Missions Outreach Services, Midland College Foundation, and the Midland College respiratory care program, and he has been an active member of Midland 2000 and Beyond and the school task force; and WHEREAS, Dr. Bartha's life is an inspiring example of integrity, compassion, and exemplary commitment to his profession and his community, and it is truly a pleasure to join in honoring him at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate Dr. Gregory W. Bartha on his receipt of a Golden Deeds Award from the Midland Exchange Club and extend to him sincere best wishes for success and fulfillment in the ensuing years; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Bartha as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
