H.C.R. No. 214



HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
	WHEREAS, A number of talented elementary and middle school 
students representing Area V participated in the Fort Worth 
Independent School District's 2003 spelling bee contest, and the 
event represented the culmination of a great deal of hard work and 
preparation on the part of its contestants; and
	WHEREAS, Alexis Whiteside won the title of spelling bee 
winner at Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary, demonstrating her mastery of 
this essential skill, while Shonte Roberts also put in a strong 
showing and won the runner-up position in the school competition; 
and
	WHEREAS, These talented young Texans have exhibited superior 
ability and determination, and their outstanding success is indeed 
worthy of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas 
hereby congratulate Alexis Whiteside and Shonte Roberts for their 
impressive achievement in the Fort Worth Independent School 
District's 2003 spelling bee contest and extend to them sincere 
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Whiteside and Ms. Roberts as an expression of high 
regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
