R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Thousands of motorcycles and motorcycle enthusiasts flock to El Paso each year to participate in the annual Border Run, a three-day event that includes parades, drag races, concerts, trading, and a chance to eat great food and meet old and new friends; and WHEREAS, This year's event, sponsored by Barnett Harley-Davidson and Rods & Wheels Bar & Grill, will begin May 2 and continue through May 4, 2003, with the noble goals of raising money for the Katja Epilepsy Foundation and the Abused and Abandoned Animal Society and increasing motorcycle awareness and providing entertainment for El Pasoans; and WHEREAS, The adventurous spirit and freedom-seeking heart found in all Texans is especially exemplified in our motorcycle enthusiasts, and it gives the members of this chamber great pleasure to salute them and the city of El Paso for keeping this spirit alive; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Barnett Harley-Davidson, Rods & Wheels Bar & Grill, and motorcycle enthusiasts for their dedication to the El Paso community and for ensuring that the spirit of Texas lives on.
