R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 2003 Texas Inauguration provides an ideal moment
in time for the citizens of the Lone Star State to unite in
celebration, and one unique aspect of our shared heritage as Texans
is a deep love of barbecue; and
WHEREAS, For the 2003 festivities, Ranch Hand Barbecue was
chosen as caterer; located in Terrell under the ownership of Eddie
Deen, Ranch Hand Barbecue is preparing a feast for inauguration
attendees that includes 800 briskets, 2,000 pounds of smoked
turkey, 160 gallons of Eddie Deen's Signature Barbecue Sauce, and
enough delicious side dishes to balance out the plate of even the
heartiest appetite; and
WHEREAS, No stranger to providing a delicious meal for large
public events, Mr. Deen, who is a graduate of Texas A&M University,
has also catered George W. Bush's gubernatorial and presidential
inaugural ceremonies; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Deen and his staff from Ranch Hand Barbecue have
done their very best to ensure that none of the persons attending
the inaugural luncheon will go away hungry, and it is most
appropriate that their remarkable efforts receive special
legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Eddie Deen of Ranch Hand Barbecue for
his catering of the 2003 Inaugural Barbecue Luncheon; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Eddie Deen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
