H.R. No. 70
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Rosebud-Lott High School Cougars football team
has achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the 2002 UIL Class
2A-Division II state championship; and
WHEREAS, After a relentless march through the playoffs, the
Cougars set their sights on the ultimate prize and gave a textbook
demonstration of gridiron excellence in the Class 2A-Division II
title game, crushing previously undefeated Cisco High School 34-0
to claim the coveted crown and complete their season with a record
of 14-1; and
WHEREAS, Head coach Bill Baine provided exceptional
inspiration and guidance to his young charges and his efforts
played a vital role in the team fulfilling its championship dream;
and
WHEREAS, These dedicated young men are a source of great
pride to the students and faculty at Rosebud-Lott High School, as
well as their many supporters in the community, and it is indeed
appropriate that they be honored for their achievements at this
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the team members and coaching staff
of the Rosebud-Lott High School Cougars football team on winning
the 2002 UIL Class 2A-Division II state championship; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for prominent display at Rosebud-Lott High School as an
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
