R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, James Lee Muldrow, Jr., of Houston, has been chosen to receive an Outstanding Texan award by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus in recognition of his many notable contributions to his community as a successful businessman; and WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texan award was created to honor individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving, developing, and enriching the lives of others; and WHEREAS, A native Houstonian, Mr. Muldrow is a member of Phillis Wheatley High School's Class of 1972; he graduated summa cum laude from Texas Southern University with a degree in pharmacy in 1977; and WHEREAS, Mr. Muldrow co-owns McGinty-Muldrow Corporation of Mercury Drive Pharmacy, which acquired Jacinto Pharmacy in 1992; since 1980, Mr. Muldrow has helped McGinty-Muldrow Corporation bring quality health services to communities in Pleasantville, Clinton Park, Galena Park, and surrounding areas; and WHEREAS, Mr. Muldrow's professional affiliations include membership in the National Community Pharmacists Association, the Texas Pharmaceutical Association, and the Houston Pharmaceutical Association; and WHEREAS, A valued member of his community and a congregant at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Mr. Muldrow is a devoted husband to Lanetta Charlton, and they are the proud parents of one son, James Muldrow III; and WHEREAS, Mr. Muldrow has served his community admirably, and his considerable knowledge and expertise will undoubtedly continue to better the lives of his fellow Texans for many years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate James Lee Muldrow, Jr., on being named an Outstanding Texan by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and extend to him sincere best wishes for success and happiness in his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Muldrow as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
