R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Monsignor Lawrence J. Stuebben of San Antonio has
been recognized by Catholic Television of San Antonio (CTSA) with
the Leadership Award; and
WHEREAS, Ordained in 1955, Monsignor Lawrence is the vicar
general of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and director of
administration for Archbishop Patrick Flores; from 1980 to 1986, he
served as rector of Assumption Seminary and was director of the
committee that organized and planned Pope John Paul II's visit to
San Antonio in 1987; and
WHEREAS, In 1982, Monsignor Lawrence cofounded CTSA, the
first Catholic television station in the country operated by an
individual diocese; since its inception, he has ensured that a
substantial commitment from the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal is made
to the station each year; and
WHEREAS, A man of vision and devotion, this esteemed
spiritual leader is contributing greatly to the well-being of San
Antonio's Catholic residents, and his good works will undoubtedly
have a beneficial effect for many years to come; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Monsignor Lawrence J. Stuebben on
his receipt of the Leadership Award from Catholic Television of San
Antonio and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Monsignor Stuebben as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
