R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Matthew Hammonds of New Braunfels has achieved the 
highest rank bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America with his receipt 
of the prestigious Eagle Scout insignia; and
	WHEREAS, Son of proud parents Sidney and Cindy Hammonds, Mr. 
Hammonds has worked diligently to complete the rigorous 
qualifications necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, 
acquiring the requisite 21 merit badges and conducting a service 
project to benefit the local community; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Hammonds joined Troop No. 163 on August 25, 
1998, and deftly rose through the ranks of First Class, Star Scout, 
and Life Scout; he also garnered the Arrow of Light Award and served 
with honor in numerous scouting posts; and
	WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is attained by few 
individuals; through his outstanding effort and commitment, Mr. 
Hammonds has proven himself worthy to join the ranks of scouting's 
elite; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Hammonds on becoming an 
Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 
success with all his future endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Hammonds as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
