R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends of Shane Hunter Williams deeply mourn the untimely passing of this fine young man who died on January 10, 2003, at the age of 31; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was born on October 12, 1971, in Dallas and graduated from Alpine High School in 1990; he attended Texas Tech University and Sul Ross State University, graduating from the latter in 1994; and WHEREAS, Returning to Dallas to pursue a career in accounting, Mr. Williams served with distinction as a financial analyst at JCPenney's corporate headquarters in Plano; and WHEREAS, In addition to having a successful career, Mr. Williams made a point to serve his community; he volunteered to help troubled teenagers and contributed to the rebuilding of a church youth center in Dallas; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williams found great joy in spending time with his family; he also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fly fishing, white-water rafting, and hiking in the mountains of Colorado; and WHEREAS, Widely known for his kindness, patience, and sincere consideration for other people, Mr. Williams has left an indelible impression on those individuals who were fortunate enough to have known him and in whose hearts his spirit continues to live; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Shane Hunter Williams and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his parents, Ronnie and Jan Williams; to his brother and sister-in-law, Shanon and Kathy Williams; to his niece, Amber Williams; to his nephew, Clayton Williams; to his grandfather, Clayton Porter; to his grandmother, Aleene Donaley; to his uncles and aunts, Dean and Vickie Williams and Carl and Sue Porter; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Shane Hunter Williams.
