R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Martha Saenz, an administrative assistant for the Weslaco Police Department, has been selected as that city's Employee of the Year for 2002; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Saenz joined the staff of the Weslaco Police Department 15 years ago, and since that time she has earned the respect and admiration of her many co-workers for her unwavering dedication to her job; and WHEREAS, Having served under several different chiefs of police, this esteemed Texan has proven invaluable to new chiefs as they have settled into their new position; she has also won praise for her courteous and tactful manner when dealing with citizens and colleagues alike; and WHEREAS, In addition to her service to the police force, Mrs. Saenz gives generously of her time and talents to numerous worthwhile community initiatives, including the United Way and the City of Weslaco Scholarship Program; she is also active with Harvest Night and has participated in the Weslaco school district's job shadowing program; and WHEREAS, Martha Saenz has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to her career and it is a pleasure to join in honoring this fine individual for her most recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Martha Saenz on her selection as the Weslaco Employee of the Year for 2002 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Saenz as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
