R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Texans place great value in the importance of
community service, and today we recognize 16 very special
individuals who adhere to this philosophy and have had a profound
impact on the community they are proud to call home; and
WHEREAS, The Epsilon Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority is
hosting its third Unsung Heroes Luncheon on February 8, 2003, to
honor those Dallas citizens who have brightened the lives of others
through their many good works but have not yet received the
recognition they deserve; and
WHEREAS, The following individuals are this year's Unsung
Heroes: Annetta Armstrong, Charles Bankston, Roderick T. Barron,
Doris Black, the Reverend C. D. Brown, the Reverend Paul Brown,
Roger Campbell, Fannie Fair, the Reverend Henry Green, Marla
Harrison, Oweda Holt, Mary Timmons Jones, Jowanda E. Jordan, Gussie
Nix, Frank Wallace, and Willard Stimpson; and
WHEREAS, While these remarkable individuals have all made
their own unique contributions to their community, they share a
kind and compassionate nature, and their generosity in behalf of
others will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the Eta Phi Beta Unsung Heroes and extend
to them sincere best wishes for success and great happiness in the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for each honoree as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
