R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Cisco High School Loboes football team staged a
remarkable 13-game turnaround during the past season, setting a
Texas high school football record after improving from 2-8 in 2001
to 15-1 in 2002; and
WHEREAS, In addition to this historic achievement, the team
also reached the state championship game for the first time in the
school's history; the Loboes averaged more than 40 points per game
before their loss to Rosebud-Lott in the state championship; and
WHEREAS, Led by head coach Brent West, the team bears the
hallmarks of teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination; Coach
West received valuable support from assistant coaches Brian Hulett,
James Lane, Patrick Pope, Derrick White, Jason Hutt, and Jeff
Whitt; and
WHEREAS, Cisco's outstanding season included playoff wins
over Anson, Wichita Falls City View, Panhandle, Idalou, Crane, and
Winters high schools; team members should be proud of their many
positive accomplishments and look forward to even greater success
in the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Brent West and the members of
the 2002 Cisco High School Loboes football team on an outstanding
season and commend them for their hard work and commitment
throughout the season; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Coach West and the team as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
