R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Veronica S. Graham of Dallas has been selected to receive the Future African American Leadership Award by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus on February 7, 2003, and this auspicious accomplishment indeed merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Ms. Graham is a senior at South Oak Cliff High School, where she is senior class historian and president of the Peer Assistance Leadership Skills organization; and WHEREAS, An accomplished scholar, Ms. Graham is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the United States Achievement Academy; she has also been listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students and on the National Honor Roll; and WHEREAS, South Oak Cliff High School's reigning homecoming queen, this lovely young woman plans to major in economics at Texas Southern University following her graduation this spring; and WHEREAS, Being presented with a Future African American Leadership Award is truly a prestigious honor, and as Ms. Graham embraces a future bright with promise it is indeed appropriate to commend her for her achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Veronica S. Graham on her receipt of a Future African American Leadership Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Graham as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
