R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Jesse Jai McNeil, Jr., of Dallas has been named an Outstanding Texan in the category of education by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus; and WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman is a native Texan who holds degrees from Pasadena City College, the University of Redlands, Springfield College, and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst; he has also studied at Harvard Divinity School, California State University at Long Beach, Bishop College, Texas Woman's University, and the University of Notre Dame; and WHEREAS, Currently an assistant professor of education leadership at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), he has garnered a wealth of experience in the teaching field as a music instructor, elementary school teacher, school administrator, and supervisor of school principals; in addition, he has served on the faculty of various colleges and universities and is the lead professor for the educational leadership principal preparation program at UTA; and WHEREAS, The president and founder of the McNeil Education Foundation, Dr. McNeil has dedicated himself to helping educate our next generation of leaders, and his unwavering commitment to this worthy endeavor truly merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Jesse Jai McNeil, Jr., on his receipt of an Outstanding Texan Award in the education category from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. McNeil as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
