R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Girl Scouts' Legislative Page Program is
bringing participants to the State Capitol for its fifth
consecutive session, and these dedicated young ladies are most
deserving of special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding program began in 1995 in an effort
to provide these future Texas leaders with the opportunity for a
firsthand experience with the legislative process; and
WHEREAS, This year, girls from Midland, Fort Worth, Dallas,
Houston, Austin, Odessa, Sealy, Needville, The Colony, Hearst,
Arlington, Burleson, San Felipe, Missouri City, and the Panhandle
are taking part in this unique weeklong event; and
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to understand the democratic system of
government on which this country was built is a truly worthwhile
undertaking; the Girl Scouts organization and the young ladies who
participate in the Legislative Page Program are indeed commendable,
and their significant contributions are much appreciated; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby honor all those associated with the Girl Scouts'
Legislative Page Program and extend to them best wishes for a
memorable event.
