H.R. No. 201



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On January 16, 2003, West Texas A&M University's Bob 
Schneider won his 500th game as coach of the women's basketball team 
with a victory over Southwestern Oklahoma University; and
	WHEREAS, Coach Schneider took over the West Texas A&M women's 
basketball program in 1981 after successful stints at Canyon High 
School and Texas Woman's University; since that time he has led the 
Lady Buffs to 15 seasons with 20 or more wins and eight Lone Star 
Conference titles; and
	WHEREAS, A member of the IKON Women's Basketball Coaches 
Association "900 Victories Club," Coach Schneider has garnered  
more than 400 victories at the high school level and 525 and 
counting at the collegiate level during his 44-year career as a head 
coach; his collegiate winning percentage of .770 ranks 11th 
all-time among Division II coaches; and
	WHEREAS, Passion, dedication, and competitiveness are 
characteristics that define Coach Bob Schneider, and his 
extraordinary record of success in the challenging field of 
coaching indeed merits special praise; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Bob Schneider on his 500th 
victory as head coach of the West Texas A&M University Lady Buffs 
and commend him on his extraordinary career; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Coach Schneider as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
