R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On February 17, 2003, Bethany Harper of Kaufman
County will travel to the State Capitol to participate in the
Honorary Page Program; and
WHEREAS, This unique program allows young Texans to assist
the staff of the house chief sergeant's office in performing tasks
for legislators, providing these volunteers with an ideal
opportunity to observe their state government in action; and
WHEREAS, The granddaughter of State Representative Linda
Harper-Brown and daughter of Tim and Cheree Harper, Miss Harper
will be a page from 8:30 to noon, and this experience will be one she
can look back on with pride for years to come; and
WHEREAS, Making Miss Harper's visit to the Capitol even more
memorable will be the reading of the day's invocation by her father;
and
WHEREAS, By taking an active role in the governmental
process, this dedicated young woman serves as an inspiration to her
friends and fellow students, and it is indeed appropriate that she
be recognized for her efforts at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Bethany Harper for her participation in
the Honorary Page Program and extend to her sincere best wishes for
an enjoyable and rewarding visit to the State Capitol; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Miss Harper as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
