R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, January 31, 2003, marked the conclusion of a 
distinguished tenure for Don Windham, and his retirement after more 
than two decades as superintendent of Electra Independent School 
District (ISD) truly merits special legislative recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Long dedicated to the field of education, Mr. 
Windham brought a wealth of valuable experience to his position, 
including 36 years as a teacher and administrator with the 
district; this wisdom, coupled with a unique understanding of the 
district's budget, enabled him to successfully guide Electra ISD in 
the 21st century; and
	WHEREAS, Known throughout the district for his dedication and 
sound judgment, Mr. Windham has won the respect and admiration of 
the many people with whom he has worked, and his contributions to 
the Electra ISD will benefit the community for many years to come; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Don Windham on his service as 
superintendent of Electra Independent School District and extend 
sincere best wishes to him as he embarks on the next chapter of his 
life; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Windham as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
