R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Michael Dohn Reesing of Waco on September 2, 2002, at the age of 51, has brought a deep sadness to the family and many friends of this esteemed gentleman; and WHEREAS, Born in Hamilton on July 26, 1951, to Walter and Frances Reesing, he was a resident of Waco for most of his life; this Waco Richfield High School alumnus later attended North Texas State University and McLennan Community College; and WHEREAS, Mr. Reesing's career with the Texas comptroller of public accounts spanned 26 years and reflected his commitment to serving the people of the Lone Star State with integrity and fairness; and WHEREAS, He gave of his time and energy to his community, as a league softball player and as an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where his fellow congregants knew him as a longtime elder; this gentle soul's zest for life was captured in the words of his favorite song, Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"; and WHEREAS, Though Mr. Reesing's kindness and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives he so deeply touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Dohn Reesing and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Vicki Reesing; to his daughters, Nikki Skeen and her husband, Billy, and Cheryl and Katrina Cook; to his mother, Frances Wiede Reesing; to his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Debi Reesing; to his nephews and niece, Kyle, Todd, and Megan Reesing; and to all those who mourn the passing of this beloved man; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael Dohn Reesing.
