H.R. No. 287


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas recently lost a beloved neighbor and businessman with the passing of James M. Farabee on February 7, 2003; and WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Farabee was born in Wichita Falls on April 8, 1932; he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and retired in 1992 as a vice president with Alexander and Alexander Insurance; he had also served as president of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters of Dallas; and WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman gave generously of his time and talents as the organist and choir director for several area churches, including NorthPark Presbyterian, Colonial Presbyterian, and Lovers Lane Methodist churches; and WHEREAS, A longtime member of the White Rock Kiwanis Club, Mr. Farabee was a devoted family man and community leader, and while he will be greatly missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of James M. Farabee and extend sincere best wishes to the members of his family: to his wife, Linda McLendon Farabee; to his children, Carol Farabee Blackwood and David James Farabee; to his granddaughters, Margaret Maddrey Blackwood and Laura Libertad Farabee; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Farabee's family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James M.
