H.R. No. 299
R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, John McNiel, Jr., of Waxahachie has earned the right 
to wear the Eagle Scout insignia, and this noteworthy 
accomplishment is truly deserving of special commendation; and
	WHEREAS, The son of John and Teresa McNiel, this young man is 
a member of Troop 232 and has received the Arrow of Light and been 
elected to the Order of the Arrow; Mr. McNiel also has brought honor 
to the posts of assistant patrol leader and senior patrol leader; 
and
	WHEREAS, Through his dedication and hard work, Mr. McNiel has 
fulfilled the rigorous qualifications necessary to achieve the rank 
of Eagle Scout, garnering the requisite merit badges and completing 
his Eagle Scout project; for his service project, he trimmed trees 
and cleared brush around the Waxahachie CARE building, a social 
service agency that assists people in need; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McNiel attends Waxahachie High School, where he 
participates in the FFA and the cross country team; he has proven 
himself to be a valued member of his community through his volunteer 
efforts with the Gingerbread Trail and the chamber of commerce; and
	WHEREAS, The elite rank of Eagle Scout is attained by few 
individuals and requires the highest standards of integrity and 
commitment, and Mr. McNiel has proven himself a worthy recipient of 
this honor; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate John McNiel, Jr., on becoming an 
Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 
success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. McNiel as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
