R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michael Kelsey of Waxahachie has achieved the
highest rank bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America with his receipt
of the prestigious Eagle Scout insignia; and
WHEREAS, Son of proud parents Gerald and Vicki Kelsey, this
young man belongs to Troop No. 232 and has deftly risen through the
ranks of first class scout, star scout, and life scout; and
WHEREAS, In completing the rigorous qualifications necessary
to ascend to the rank of Eagle Scout, Mr. Kelsey worked diligently
to earn the requisite merit badges and complete his Eagle Scout
project, which involved constructing a fence around the air
conditioning unit at Common Ground Ministries, a social service
agency that helps families with children; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelsey attends Waxahachie High School, where he
participates in the Future Farmers of America program and is a
member of the swim team; active in the community, he has served as
junior zookeeper at the Dallas Zoo, worked for the Gingerbread
Trail, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels; and
WHEREAS, The elite rank of Eagle Scout is attained by only a
few accomplished individuals; Mr. Kelsey's achievement is indeed
worthy of highest praise, and it is a privilege to recognize him at
this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Kelsey for earning the rank
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Eagle Scout Kelsey as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
