H.R. No. 301


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Robert M. Tenery, Jr., of Dallas has been presented the 2003 Max Cole Leadership Award for his many contributions to the field of medicine and to his community; and WHEREAS, A third generation physician, Dr. Tenery earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and interned at Parkland Memorial Hospital; and WHEREAS, After two years of service in the United States Army, he completed a residency in ophthalmology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and a fellowship in cornea-external disease at The University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio; and WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman contributes his time and talents to numerous medical societies and associations and has served as president of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Texas Medical Association; and WHEREAS, A dedicated leader in the field of medicine, Dr. Tenery's contributions to his profession and his community make him truly worthy of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Robert M. Tenery, Jr., on his selection by the Dallas County Medical Association as the recipient of the association's 2003 Max Cole Leadership Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Tenery as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
