H.R. No. 305


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor Cedar Creek Elementary School on the 25th anniversary of the school's founding; and WHEREAS, Named for the abundance of cedar trees adjacent to the property, Cedar Creek was built in 1978 at 3301 Pinnacle Road in Austin and was the second elementary school built in the Eanes Independent School District; limited to grades 3-5 for more than a decade, it has been home to kindergarten through fifth-grade students since 1993, and today, more than 400 young Texans identify themselves as Cedar Creek Eagles and proudly wear the school colors of blue and white; and WHEREAS, Guided by principal Sara Green, the Cedar Creek team of adults and children works together in a spirit of support, high expectations, and pride to achieve academic excellence; for five consecutive years, the school has earned an exemplary campus rating from the Texas Education Agency; and WHEREAS, For a quarter-century, Cedar Creek Elementary School has effectively addressed the educational needs of the families in its neighborhood, and in doing so it has greatly enhanced the educational, social, and cultural fabric of the greater Austin community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of Cedar Creek Elementary School and extend best wishes to its faculty, staff, students, and parents for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Cedar Creek Elementary School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
