H.R. No. 372
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On March 3, 2003, Dr. Ted Kitchens of Aledo is
serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives;
and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington,
Southwestern Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological
Seminary, where he obtained both master's and doctorate degrees,
Dr. Kitchens joined the newly formed Christ Chapel Bible Church in
1981; during his wise and able stewardship, the church has grown
from serving approximately 60 members to ministering to more than
2,000 worshipers on a typical Sunday; over the last two decades, the
number of weekly services has tripled, and the church staff has
increased tenfold; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kitchens has established highly successful
youth ministries, which instruct more than 300 children, 200 teens,
and 250 college students; in addition, he has given generously of
his time and talents to the Aledo Young Life Committee and the
Dallas Theological Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, He continues to minister beyond the walls of his
church as he guides us with a spiritual message on this day, and it
is most fitting that the members of this chamber express
appreciation to him for the sharing of his time and energy in behalf
of this body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Dr. Ted Kitchens for his inspiring
service as pastor of Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, thank
him for his service as Pastor of the Day, and extend to him warmest
best wishes for continued success and fulfillment; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Kitchens as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
