R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. David Wright of Austin has been named Family Physician of the Year for 2002 by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to pay tribute to this dedicated doctor; and WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of California at San Diego, Dr. Wright completed his residency at Brackenridge Hospital's Central Texas Medical Foundation, now renamed Austin Medical Education Programs; and WHEREAS, After working for Indian Health Service, he joined the faculty of Austin Medical Education Programs, the only graduate medical education program in Austin; and WHEREAS, The Physician of the Year Award recognizes physicians who are active in their communities and demonstrate dedication to their patients; those selected to receive this prestigious honor are indeed role models for medical professionals; and WHEREAS, Respected by patients and colleagues alike for his enthusiasm, devotion, and humility, Dr. Wright truly embodies all of the qualities that a doctor should aspire to, and it is a privilege to honor this esteemed individual at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby recognize Dr. David Wright for his years of service to the citizens of Texas and congratulate him on being named 2002 Family Physician of the Year by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
