R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Diego Isaias Natera of El Paso on February 11, 2003, at the age of 18, has brought a tragic loss to his family and many friends, and it is most fitting that we honor his memory at this time; and WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, he grew up in El Paso, the youngest of his family's three children, and recently, this proud young man had passed the requirements to become a United States citizen; and WHEREAS, Mr. Natera was a graduate of Riverside High School, where he was a member of the football and track teams, and, possessed of a kind heart and compassionate nature, he contributed greatly to the betterment of his community as an enthusiastic volunteer; and WHEREAS, While pursuing a degree in criminal justice at The University of Texas at El Paso, this outstanding young Texan was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and a freshman cheerleader; and WHEREAS, Although it is immeasurably painful to say good-bye to one so young, it is comforting to know that, while his time here was all too brief, Mr. Natera will long be remembered as a man of honor and integrity by the many people who knew and admired him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby honor the memory of Diego Isaias Natera and extend sincere sympathy to his parents, Justo and Ernestina Natera; to his siblings, Daniel and Judith Natera; to his brother-in-law, Julio C. Gonzalez; to his sister-in-law, Blanca E. Barragan; to his niece and nephew, Jeannine and Jahir Gonzalez; and to the other relatives and many friends of this fine young man; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Diego Isaias Natera.
