R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Fletcher Spargo, a senior at Abilene Christian High
School, recently earned a perfect score on the Scholastic
Assessment Test (SAT), an achievement that places him in an elite
group of the nation's top students; and
WHEREAS, Commonly used by colleges in determining admission
eligibility, the SAT is a comprehensive examination of a student's
math and verbal skills; of the 1.3 million people who took the test
last year, only 34 students in Texas and 616 nationwide earned the
test's highest possible total of 1,600; and
WHEREAS, This achievement is the most recent in a long list of
accomplishments for Mr. Spargo; he is also a semifinalist in the
National Merit Scholarship Program and a candidate in the
Presidential Scholars Program; and
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Gary and Vicki Spargo of
Abilene, Fletcher Spargo has demonstrated a deeply rooted
commitment to academic excellence, and it is a pleasure to honor him
as he looks forward to a bright and promising future; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Fletcher Spargo on earning a
perfect score on the Scholastic Assessment Test and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Spargo as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
