R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Corpus Christi lost a beloved neighbor
and community leader with the passing of William "Bill" Pruet, Jr.,
on September 21, 2002, at the age of 61; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pruet was a veteran of the United States Air
Force who gave generously of his time and talents in support of
numerous worthwhile civic initiatives; in addition to serving his
fellow residents as a city councilman, he was the president of the
Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau, and in those
capacities he worked to make his community a better place to live,
work, and raise a family; and
WHEREAS, An active member of Parkdale Baptist Church, this
esteemed gentleman was also the owner of San Jacinto Title Company
and the Trend House; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pruet was a man of dedication and vision, and
while he has been greatly missed, his memory lives on in the hearts
and minds of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William "Bill" Pruet,
Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
his wife, Phyllis Pruet; to his children, Dana Pruet Chayer and
William Pruet; to his mother, Mildred Pruet; to his brother, James
Stephen Pruet; to his three grandchildren; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Pruet's family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
"Bill" Pruet, Jr.
