H.R. No. 446
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On October 26, 2002, W. Leonard "Boots" Goode and
Louise Goode of Midland celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
in Fort Worth with a reception hosted by their children; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Goode were united in matrimony on
October 31, 1952, at University Baptist Church in Austin; since
that time, their enduring union has been blessed with two sons,
William and Rich Goode; and
WHEREAS, The Goodes lived in Austin, Amarillo, Guatemala, and
Libya before moving to Midland in 1962; Mrs. Goode is a retired Lee
High School biology teacher who volunteers for Hospice of Midland,
First Baptist Church, and other worthwhile organizations; Mr.
Goode, who has worked for Marathon and Amarillo Oil, is a consulting
geologist; and
WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
Goode have shared half a century together and have built a loving
marriage that has grown ever stronger with each passing year; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate W. Leonard "Boots" Goode and Louise
Goode on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Goode as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
