R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, James and Joy Finley of Midland celebrated their 
50th wedding anniversary in 2002 with a luncheon at Crestview 
Baptist Church and an Alaskan cruise given to them by their 
children; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on September 14, 1952, at First 
Baptist Church in Floydada, Mr. and Mrs. Finley have been blessed 
with three children, Kristi Law, Suzanne Finley, and Melanie 
Huddleston; they are also the proud grandparents of three 
grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Finley lived in Lubbock, Muleshoe, and 
Big Spring before moving to Midland in 1959; Mr. Finley is retired 
from Albertson's and works as an agent with Bill Jackson Realtors, 
while Mrs. Finley teaches private piano lessons; and
	WHEREAS, The Finleys are valued members of Crestview Baptist 
Church, where Mrs. Finley plays the organ, and the couple enjoy the 
fellowship of their church family; for the past 50 years, they have 
shared an enduring union and built a strong marriage that continues 
to inspire all who know them; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate James and Joy Finley on the 
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Finley as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
